Snow Day!!!

So much for global warming, it has snowed two years in a row in Pearland. Brooke thinks that this is normal. Brooke had school on Friday and we didn't think it was going to snow until the afternoon, but it started snowing right when I dropped her off at 9am. I felt so bad about leaving her at school. I went to Kroger and stocked up on all kinds of comfort food, like we were going to be snowed in for days. I got stuff to make chili, gumbo, cobbler, brownies, hot chocolate, you name it. Our nanny, Bonnie, thought she was at someone elses house! It was so fun to be bad! My friend Kim picked up her daughter and Brooke early from school to play in the snow. I went to get her after lunch and we played outside and tried to sled down the hills of the golf course in a cardboard box.

The next morning, the whole golf course was iced over and we went sledding using a Rubbermaid plastic lid. My legs are bruised up from sliding on my belly, but it was so fun!

Brooke and our nanny, Bonnie, before school on Friday. Brooke is holding her elf named Patrick. He shows up each morning in a new spot after going to report to Santa each night on Brooke's behavior. It is fun to see Brooke's face light up when she finds him each morning.

We even got the babies out in the snow. Paige is in her pink hat, Reagan is in red and Kara is in purple. My running friend, Valerie's mom, made the girls hats!

5 months - November

Our babies are five months and our big girl is five years!

They are sleeping great and eating even better.

They have four bottles a day, four hours apart and they are now eating breakfast (cereal and fruit) and dinner (cereal, vegetable & fruit). They all go to bed about 6:30pm and get up about 6:30am. Life is not too bad with triplets plus one.

They are laughing a lot and smiling like crazy. When we get them in the mornings they smile and kick their legs and punch with their arms because they are so excited. It's so adorable and wonderful to wake up to.

Look at that smile! Reagan still has this sly little smile and expressive eyebrows. She is really liking eating baby food and starting to roll over. She laugh, talks and smiles a lot.

Paige is just as cute as a button. We still can't tell her and Kara apart unless we look under Kara's neck, but we have noticed that Kara's dimple is a bit deeper. Paige is the roll over champ of the group. She can go from front to back and back to front. They girls are also starting to grab toys in their little gym. Paige also has found her loud voice. She screeches all the time and will scare her sisters and make them cry. She loves hearing her voice and sounds like a Pterodactyl or a hurt bird.

Kara is the smiley one of the group. You can always get a smile from Kara and she LOVES to eat. We are up to 8oz of formula and she will cry when her bottle is finished. Poor Kara is always starving.

You are not seeing double!

Identical twins are so weird. The babies aren't weird, it is just strange to me that they look just alike - how two humans can look exactly the same. Paige doesn't have as big a smile here, but you can't tell them apart in real life.

Big sister with her baby sisters. Brooke is such a good big sister to all of the girls. I am sure it could be overwhelming for her, but she does so well. She helps a lot and always wants to give them a kiss first thing in the morning and tell them bye when she goes to school. They are really starting to watch her and she loves it when she can make them laugh.

Halloween

We went alone to the pumpkin patch and it was tough. We couldn't carry the babies and get the pumpkins. Everything was wobbly, the pumpkins and the babies. It was a balancing act for sure. It was crazy, but people helped us. We need some more arms.

Our annual neighborhood party. All the adults dressed in 80's. It was a blast from the past and I didn't feel too cute, but I enjoyed looking and laughing at everyone else. The preppy guy in the back, our next door neighbor Omar, had our other baby.

Brooke is in love with The Wizard of Oz so she was Dorothy for Halloween. She wore the wig everywhere for a month before Halloween. It was so cute!

What has this world come to? Going house to house Trick-or-Treating on a golf cart? The kids had a ball and they were able to get around the whole neighborhood.

5 years was hard for me. She is not a baby anymore, not a toddler or preschooler. She is a big girl. Where did the time go? I know I have three babies to love on and hold, but my first baby is grown.

Great Grandparents (GG & Gramps) babysat the triplets while we went to Jumpin Jungle for Brooke's party.

Getting ready for Halloween!

We are big fans of fall around here. The weather gets cooler, lots of decorating with pumpkins and scarecrows, and Brooke's 5th birthday is Oct. 30th. I can't believe she will be five! I am so sad and in denial. I told her she could have a party and get presents, but not turn five. Five is OLD! My baby is growing up.

The triplets are so much fun now. We have their acid reflux under control and they are smiling all the time and "talking" to us. Kara and Paige have huge smiles. Kara is the talker and Reagan is the cool cat. She will look at you with a little smirk and raise her eyebrows. It is so adorable. She also has big smiles too and is really starting to talk. They love to be around us and be held. We bring all their bouncy seats to the table each night so they can join us for dinner. They usually end up in our laps, so we are getting used to eating with one hand. Super news!! The babies are sleeping through the night. They start out in their bed, but we end up putting them in their swings. We don't have to feed them though. Yippee!

We are keeping the babies quarantined due to the swine flu. They are not able to have any kind of flu shot because they are too young, but they are too old for the RSV vaccine. So...we don't take them anywhere. I am a little bit of a hypochondriac, so bear with us if you come around with kids and hear in a paranoid voice, "ahhh, don't touch them." Our doctor said that when Brooke comes home from school she has to wash her hands, face and change her clothes. She has done so every single day and will not come near the babies until she does. It is so sweet. There has been swine flu at her little preschool and in our neighborhood, so we are extra cautious. I wondered how worried I should be about the swine flu and our pediatrician said "very". What??? That just fueled my hypochondria fire. She is not one to get us worried about anything with our girls, so that made me a bit nervous.

Big News!!! I am going back to work! Don't get alarmed, just one hour a week. I'll be teaching my 5am class at 24 Hour Fitness starting Oct. 20th (only Tuesdays). I'll be back home before the babies even wake up. I'm a little nervous, but ready and excited. I miss teaching aerobics and actually enjoy getting up that early because I can come home have coffee, do my bible study and take a shower before anyone is up. I was able to have "me" time in the mornings when it was just Brooke. Hopefully the babies will sleep at least until 7am. We'll see how it goes.

When we put their costumes on, Paige kept staring at Reagan. I think she was wondering what in the world she was wearing. I think this picture is so cute. She is really looking at her sister.
